6th World Conference on Injury Prevention and Control

From 12–15 May 2002, Canada welcomed the world as the hosts of the 6th World Conference on Injury Prevention and Control in the amazing city of Montreal.

Theme

Injuries, Suicide and Violence: Building Knowledge, Policies and Practices to Promote a Safer World

Objective

To bring together the stakeholders to facilitate exchange between sectors and disciplines; promote the sharing of knowledge and intervention models and encourage partnerships between the public and private sectors.

Focus

To facilitate exchange, parallel sessions (oral presentations, round tables and debates) and poster sessions, to be organised around six major themes:

1. Road Safety
2. Occupational Safety
3. Sport, Leisure, Home, Institutional & Product Safety
4. Suicide Prevention
5. Violence Prevention
6. Post-trauma Care & Rehabilitation
