A microwave oven is now a common feature in many modern households. Though a fairly recent innovation, it has proven its usefulness in several ways. The microwaves used in these ovens generate heat in the food by causing the particles in food to vibrate at very high frequencies. Less water is used in cooking, and in this respect microwave cooking is similar to steaming.

Microwave cooking is faster than conventional methods of cooking. Because of this, more of the nutrients, colour, flavour and texture of foods are retained.

Microwave cooking can save you time and energy.
