Organic foods are normal everyday foods without additives, chemical or genetic modification. Agricultural practices / methods used in plant farming and animal rearing affect the health quality of organic plants and animal foods.

Organic foods are produced from organic farming and have far lower levels of pesticides and fertilizers when compared to foods from conventional farming practices. There are health risks associated with the presence of pesticides in the body.

Unlike conventional foods, organic foods are thought to be the healthier alternatives and are believed to have higher levels of phytochemicals. Similarly, organic farming is more advantageous than conventional farming.

The disadvantages of organic farming are in relation to the cost of production, food availability and exposure to natural toxins. The latter has never been proven and supporters of organic farming argue that conventional practices increase exposure to E. coli far more.

The overall consensus is that there cannot be any harm in individuals consuming a varied diet that includes a lot of fruits and vegetables and if it is possible, including some organic foods in their varied diet.
