CRICS 6: "Knowing to Decide: Scientific and Technical Information for Health Decisions"



The 6th Regional Congress on Health Sciences Information (CRICS 6) was held May 7-9 in Puebla, Mexico. The congress, sponsored by PAHO/BIREME together with the Secretaría de Salud of Mexico and the Instituto Nacional de Salud Pública, CENIDS, invited information professionals from over 37 countries to exchange knowledge and experiences, and to evaluate in information technology in the Region.

The CRICS takes place every two years and occurs in one of the countries that compose the network of health sciences information collaborative centers, coordinated by BIREME/OPS/OMS. This year, all sessions and the exhibition fair took place at the Puebla Convention Center in the historical center of Puebla, Mexico.

III Regional Coordination Meeting of the Virtual Health Library (VHL)




The III Regional Coordination Meeting of the Virtual Health Library (VHL), was held May 5-6, was a preliminary event of the CRICS 6 which aims to strengthen cooperation among the centers of the Region and thus stimulate the expansion of the VHL. Its objective is to evaluate the results, problems, and challenges to VHL implementation in countries and specialized areas. Working Groups were organized to discuss the different subjects and exchange experiences.

This meeting was limited to previously registered guests and took place in the Hotel Mesón del Ángel in Puebla.
