XXXVIII Meeting of the Advisory Committee on Health Research (ACHR)

The ACHR meeting will take place on November 3 -5. The majority of the sessions will be aimed at examining the cooperation activities of the new areas and technical units of PAHO relating to health research.

The Advisory Committee on Health Research (ACHR), established in 1962, contributes to the formulation of policies and technical cooperation strategies of the Organization on research. The Committee reviews research activities that are undertaken and/or have the support of the Organization; monitors their development and evaluates the results. The Committee meets annually and is composed of fifteen members who are selected among renowned scientists in the Region.

Objectives of the meeting:

  • Revise the current PAHO's initiatives and strategies in technical cooperation for the health research promotion and development, particularly in the area of Information and Knowledge Management.
  • Identify and to share the lines of action and priority areas of public health research of the new technical units of PAHO for the health research promotion and articulation of efforts.
