1. Health Sector - Coordinated action with NGOs

World Vision delivered 24 boxes of medical supplies to hospitals

Netherland Red Cross provided 5 medical emergency kits (3.7 tones)
to provide basic health assistance to 10,000 people for three months.
They are working in coordination with Medicins du Monde and Haitian

FAO launched a USD 4 million appeal for Haiti for urgent farming
inputs to restore agricultural production and improve food security.

ACT members in Haiti (Christian AID, Federation Protestante D’Haiti,
Lutheran World Federation (LWF) and Service Chretien d’Haiti)
are currently working on an appeal which will compromise the following
elements to assist the most vulnerable of the affected population:
food security, first aid, health and sanitation activities and legal
assistance. They are working in coordination with KORAL and Child
Care in the North, LWF in the West, FOPLAB in the South East, FNGA
in Grand Anse, National Coalition for Haitian Human Rights in 9 departments,
SCH in the North and La Gonave and FPH in Artibonite and North West.

Emergency kits for 10,000 people have been distributed in Gonaives
Hospital yesterday. Inter Aide Perodin, Pediatic Hospital Pere Damien,
North West Depot, Port de Paix Hospital, Nippes Sanitary Department,
Grand Anse Depot, St. Michael Hospital Jacmel and La Gonave Depot
have also received medial supplies. Distribution is being coordinated
through PROMESS by PAHO/WHO, ICRC, MSF, USAID/OFDA, MSH, Catholic
Relief Services (CRS), Centre Development de Sante (CDS) and Concern. |

University Hospital: 11 bullet injured people reported, March 11th..
Number of hours with electricity a day: 4 (four), except for the Emergency
Room and the Surgery Ward, which have a generator. Total of people
received at the Emergency Room from 5 March to 12 March: 552, including
80 bullet injured people and 40 stabbings. (Source: Minister of Health
