Health Sector

PAHO/WHO will distribute 6 kits for 10,000 people received yesterday from ACDI Ottawa and 3 surgical kits received from USAID/OFDA. PAHO/WHO, UNICEF, CIDA/Canada met to arrange drugs distribution.

PROMESS. 6 tons of medical materials were purchased.

The UN Humanitarian assessment mission went to St. Marc on 16 March and reported that commerce and basic services were resuming. (Relief web)

NGOs

MDM Canada continues to work in Cite Soleil and increased their team with two medical persons. Patients from Cite Soleil can be now referred to Hospital St. Francois la Salle where MSF Belgium is providing assistance.
MSF Belgium reported 6 bullet injured people yesterday between midnight and 2.00 am at St. Francois les Salles Hospital.
MSF Holland established a base in Cap Haitien and MSF Belgium in Port de Paix (North West) and Petite Riviere (Bas Central)
Action Contre la Faim (ACF) has started their activities with ECHO support.
OXFAM Quebec ordered drugs for Hospital de Nippes and some health centers.
Aide Medicale Internationale plans medical intervention in St. Michel de L’Attalaye. Proposal was submitted to ECHO.
