Antigua and Barbuda - Centennial Celebrations

The Ministry of Health and Social Improvement in Antigua and Barbuda released stamps to commemorate PAHO's Birthday on Monday 2nd December, 2002 at the Government's General Post Office.

These stamps feature three of the country's Health Champions who have contributed significantly to the health and wellness of the country. They are Dr. Margaret O'Garra, Nurse Ineta Wallace and Mr. Vincent Edwards.

The Ministry also distributed PAHO lapel throughout the country.

Other developments:

In April 2002, the Ministry of Health honoured 21 individuals who have made outstanding contribution in the promotion of health and accepted the PAHO Centennial Quilt.

Other activites were held throughout the year on the designated World Days.
