In addition to the objectives that can be attributed to the Center by resolution of the Pan American Health Organization's Governing Bodies, BIREME's objective is to stimulate technical cooperation in health scientific and technical information among Latin American and Caribbean countries (the Region), in order to develop the means and capacities for providing equitable access to all relevant and up to date health scientific and technical information on a fast and efficient basis, and at reasonable costs.
