The Research Coordination is responsible for coordinating the process of designating, follow-up and evaluation of PAHO/WHO
Collaborating Centers, which are centers of excellence, which cooperate with PAHO/WHO technical units
in several areas of research.
All the WHO Collaborating Centers in the Region of the Americas is known as PAHO/WHO
Collaborating Centers. Every WHO Collaborating Center is part of an inter-institutional collaborative
network established to provide technical cooperation through the corresponding WHO program at national,
regional, and global levels. The Centers are departments or laboratories within an academic or
research institution that cooperates with one or more specific Technical Program according to mutually
agreed upon terms of reference. (More..)
