Description:
Speakers included academic scholars as well as researchers. In addition, a number of invited policy-makers and representatives of different health organizations from around the world attended and participated in the discussion.
The conference contributed both to scholarly and policy debate on policy tools to assist the development, implementation and/or evaluation processes associated with achieving health equity in the Americas.
Key themes included: measurement of inequalities, targeting the poor, allocation of health resources, and health impact assessment.
The program will conclude with a high-level panel discussion featuring David Gwatkin (World Bank), Alex Scott (UK), and Peter Tugwell (Canada).
