Healthy municipalities, an integrated approach of the health promotion

Washington, DC, September 5, 2002 -- In the competition to be declared Healthy Municipalities, the cities of the Americas get involved in the health promotion, emphasize the community and multisectoral approach, and prioritize the public health and its promotional activities in the preparation of municipal policies. This is the objective of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) with the launching of the initiative of the Healthy Municipalities.
