La salud mental en América Latina y el Caribe, una reforma de mentalidad
Los países de América Latina y del Caribe, como Panamá y otros, se han destacado en los últimos años con valiosos esfuerzos para mejorar sus sistemas de servicios en materia de salud mental. La Organización Panamericana de la Salud (OPS) ha servido de catalizador y orientador, habiendo facilitado una fructífera discusión y ofreciendo una asistencia técnica que continuará expandiéndose.(19/Jul/2007)

The rapid spread and pervasiveness of the use and abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and illegal drugs has created a grave situation which has caught the countries of the Region of the Americas unprepared and which far exceeds the capacity of the governments to respond effectively.
