PAHO/WHO country office for Bahamas and Turks and Caicos collaborates with Government of the Bahamas and IAEA around radiation safety plan

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) provided an in-country mission to The Bahamas the 2nd-5th of February, 2015 in order to increase awareness of nuclear security issues and the assistance available to Member States; as well as to discuss and finalize the Integrated Nuclear Security Support Plan (INSSP) for further implementation of nuclear security activities in the country.

Outlining the evolution of Bahamian healthcare throughout the years, Dr. Harold Munnings, Author and Gastroenterologist presented Dr. Gerry Eijkemans, PWR to the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos with one of the first signed copies of his new book, a medical chronology titled “History of Bahamian Healthcare”.

4th meeting of the Bahamas Task Force on the Ebola Virus

Marking the 4th meeting of the Bahamas Task Force on the Ebola Virus, Prime Minister Perry Christie held an extensive press conference to address the general public on the country’s preparedness for the deadly virus. The measures took into consideration the security, immigration, and health procedures that are being implemented by the country.
