Panama: Train health workers, midwives and general practitioners, promote access to family planning and emergency obstetric care, are key to reducing maternal and infant mortality

The country’s representative congratulated Mirta Roses on her annual report and stated that Panama has various plans for achieving Millennium Development Goals 4 and 5, which aim to reduce maternal and infant mortality.

In that regard, he indicated that together with PAHO they have established a plan to achieve them that, among other things, aims at training health workers, midwives and general practitioners, promoting access to family planning and emergency obstetric care.
