18 January, Belmopan - The University of Belize (UB) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization will be holding a training workshop on access to scientific health information (WHO/HINARI) from January 23rd - 26th, 2012.
The HINARI Programme which is set up by WHO together with major publishers, enables developing countries to gain online access to one of the world's largest collections of biomedical and health literature. More than 8,000 information resources (in 30 different languages) are now available to health institutions in 105 countries, areas and territories benefiting many thousands of health workers and researchers, and in turn, contributing to improve world health.
Representatives from the UB Library and the Faculty of Nursing and Allied Health and Services will be attending the training workshop which will be held at the George Price Center, Belmopan. Other attendees will include representatives from Belize National Library Service and Information System, Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, Ministry of Health, and PAHO/WHO Belize.
A certificate of completion will be issued to the attendees after the workshop.
This is another collaboration between the University of Belize, Ministry of Health and PAHO/WHO. Last year UB Library became the WHO depository library in Belize to provide access of WHO literature to the public.
