Thirty percent of maternal deaths are caused by hemorrhage in areas of some countries in the Americas. For this reason, together with local authorities and partners, we selected areas in five countries where more women are dying from postpartum hemorrhage to implement the project.

We are also working with other countries throughout the Region to help them prevent maternal hemorrhage, including Brazil, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico, and Suriname.
