Mass Casualty Management/Incident Command System

Print

The MCM course focuses on the establishment and maintenance of a functional Mass Casualty Management system as a mechanism for maximizing the saving of lives, preserving function and reducing suffering in a mass casualty incident. It emphasizes prompt response with early pertinent information-sharing, scene coordination and patient management by response agencies, stressing an inter-sectoral perspective. The involvement and coordination of all responders including Health, Police, Fire and Rescue services, Red Cross, Civil Defense, Military, Civil Aviation and Non-government organizations is deeply encouraged and is, in fact, key to the successful management of any actual mass casualty event.
