In order to analyze the lessons learned by the health sector in the emergency caused by floods and landslides during the months of December 2010 and January 2011, a workshop on lessons learned, challenges and conclusions was held in Panama.

The workshop was attended by coordinators of the Institutional System of Health in Emergencies and Disasters from the Ministry of Health (SISED) of the fourteen health regions, regional directors of health of the affected areas, and the SISED at the national level and consultants from PAHO/WHO.
