Earthquake in Peru

A 6.9 magnitude earthquake shook the southwest coast of Ica, Peru on October 28. A preliminary damage assessment reported 2,575 people affected and one death. The Ministry of Health reported that two health units were affected in Ica but operations of services were not compromised. No disruption was reported in the water supply and electric power was restored within hours. The emergency was handled by the government of Peru and international support was not requested.
