Earthquake and Floods in Colombia - November 2004

A magnitude 6.5 (Richter scale) earthquake hit Colombia on 15 November 2004. The epicenter was in the Pacific Ocean, and affected Santiago de Cali, the coffee belt and Bogota. In addition, the second rainy season of the year started on 1 October. It has caused flooding that has affected almost 200,000 people. The week of 15 November precipitations were over the median for the same period in previous years. (More information in Spanish)
