Despite its tremendous power, Hurricane Isabel spared the Caribbean region the weekend of September 13, 2003. The Family Islands of the Bahamas experienced storm surges and wave damage and the Ministry of Health and PAHO
met to plan response activities. Rapid needs assessment forms were distributed to all the islands.
