Tropical Storm Agatha and volcanic eruption in Guatemala

PAHO/WHO continues supporting national authorities to respond to the emergency caused by Tropical Storm Agatha and Pacaya volcano eruption. The number of people affected in Guatemala, as well as the number of dead and injured, is rising as the damage assessments and needs analyses come in.

CONRED maintains the Institutional Red Alert and the Orange Population Alert. PAHO/WHO maintains constant communication and coordinates the response with the country’s Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare.
