Panama 8/18/2014

Chiriqui. Heavy rains on Sunday night generated floods and mudslides. At least 2 people are dead, 5 are missing, and 12 who were isolated were rescued. Rain conditions will probably continue. A shelter was established to attend to the victims. (o.s: SINAPROC)

Dominican Republic 8/18/2014

Altagracia Province. A fire at the Maternity Hospital on 16 August prompted the evacuation of 18 of the 81 children in the area of perinatology and their transfer to Robert Read Cabral and Reinaldo Almanzar hospitals and two other health facilities . There were no injured among patients or medical staff. The unit stopped activities. (o.s.: SESPAS ) (m.: Hoy.dig)
