The walk which begun at the Carenage Sporting Complex culminated at the Grenada Trade Centre in Grand Anse, where participants who completed the 3 mile journey gathered for a short prize giving and closing ceremony.
Several private and public sectors officials, employees as well as health awareness and promoting organizations and other individuals who participated in the exercise commended the Ministry of Health for engaging people in what they described as a preventative health strategy, aimed at reducing chronic diseases and other health complications.

The Grenada Electricity Services Ltd. (GRENLEC) won the inaugural “Move It to Lose It - Weight Loss” competition, organized by the Ministry of Health.
The contest which was held over a four month period, targeted employees from both the private and public sectors who were expected to reduce their collective body weights through various health and fitness exercises.
On Sunday September 20, 2009 the (GRENLEC) team walked away with the coveted “Biggest Loser Title” and the Netherlands Insurance Challenge Trophy as well as a plaque after having been declared the overall winner of the competition at a ceremony held at the
Minister for Health, Hon. Ann Peters in addressing the participants highlighted the benefits of exercise, and commended all of the participants for what she described as a personal investment towards their health.
Peters reminded the gathering that they should take their health seriously and encouraged them to make regular exercise a part of their daily routine.
Highlighting the effects of and other health complications associated with chronic diseases the Health Minister told the gathering that the prevalence of such diseases such as diabetes and hypertension is cause for concern, hence the Ministry getting involved in wellness programmes that are designed to benefit everyone.
According to Minister Peters,
She said that the Workplace Wellness Program and the Move It to Lose It competition will be continued so that more and more persons can enjoy the benefits of health.
Bryden and Minors Ltd placed second and Courts Grenada Ltd placed third in the competition. Several persons also won individual prizes and were encouraged to continue to practice good health.
