Training for Laboratory Staff in the use of the CD 4 Machine

During the latter half of 2010, Anguilla determined that it in an effort to assist in the country management of the population of HIV positive persons and in anticipation of an increase over time, that it would be prudent to procure a CD4 machine.

Securing Anguilla in a Mass Casualty Situation 11-15 October

A five-day mass casualty management workshop, funded by the Pan American Health Organisation, has been a main focus in Anguilla this week at Masara Resort, Katouche, with a number of participants drawn from key departments in the public sector in attendance.

PAHO Classifies Diseases in Anguilla, 18-22 October

Separate workshops for doctors and other health personnel, called medical coders, were arranged for this week, as part of an initiative by the Pan American Health Organisation. The sessions were aimed at classifying all diseases in Anguilla using a standardised system known as the “International Classification of Diseases 10th Revision.”

Inaugural launch of the Nurse Cadet Programme, Anguilla

The Ministry of Health and Social Development is aware of the worldwide shortage of nurses, and the need to provide the health care system with a cadre of qualified and competent nurses.  To address this problem the Ministry invests heavily in its youth, and is poised and ready to launch its inaugural Nurse Cadet Programme which is a collaborative effort of the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School, Health Authority of Anguilla and the Ministry.
