El Paso Field Office - Plans for Centennial Celebrations

Activities planned include:

• January 2002: A series of workshops entitled, "Public Information and Health"
• March 20-22, 2002: PAHO's Central America and the Caribbean Managers Meeting
• April 5, 2002: Diabetes Symposium
• June 4-7, 2002: 60th USMBHA Annual Meeting. PAHO's Director will be the keynote speaker for the Conference "PAHO, 100 Years of Health in the Americas," to be held in Chihuahua, Mexico
• December 2, 2002: Gala Dinner for the 100 years, recognizing the Border Health Heroes

Other activities:

• A photo contest on "Border Health" began in June 2001, and will culminate in a photography exhibit in September 2002
• Celebration of Border Office's 60th anniversary through the publication of a photographic book documenting 60 years of PAHO's work at the border
