About the Meeting

Objectives

• Update National Directors of Epidemiology and Malaria Programs in the Americas on the current situation of malaria worldwide and in the Region of the Americas.
• Carry out consultations with heads of the regional and country malaria program leaders, as well as with national directors of epidemiology, on various matters, including the proposed 2006–2010 Regional Strategic Plan for Malaria. Look into potential interprogrammatic work with GEF/DDT Project Network and the PAHO Strategic Fund and carry out technical cooperation between the Regional Malaria Program and Global Fund country projects.
• Create a space for the countries to share experiences and for networking and information exchange.
