The Bioethics Program of the Pan American Health Organization and the World Health Organization, (PAHO/WHO), in conjunction with major universities and collaborative centers in Bioethics in the region of the Americas and the Caribbean, is organizing the International Conference “Health Regulations Ethics” in Santiago, Chile on April 23, 24 and 25, 2009.
- The conference is intended for:
- Members of regulatory agencies.
- Representatives of health ministers.
- Representatives of professional associations.
- Representatives of scientific and technological commissions
- Legislators
- Researchers
- Planners and administrators of healthcare services
It is conceived as a forum for discussion on the ethical and philosophical bases of regulations in biomedical research, healthcare delivery and professional conduct, and aims at promoting its study within the sociocultural context of Latin America and the Caribbean.
Those unable to attend, or those whose attendance is not confirmed by the organizing committee, will be able to follow the live feed of the conference and poster presentations via the University of Chile video streaming system at http://www.uchile.cl/bioetica/online.htm. In addition, video recordings will be available after the conclusion of the conference.
