RIMSA: Inter-American Meeting, at Ministerial Level, on Health and Agriculture
RIMSA stands for Inter-American Meeting in Health and Agriculture at Ministerial Level. It is the only regional forum for collaboration and coordination among the health and agricultural sectors, at the highest political level. PAHO counts on this meeting to development technical cooperation in the area of Veterinary Public Health. This page provides an overview of RIMSA and its documentation.

International Health Regulations (IHR)
The International Health Regulations are an international legal instrument that covers measures for preventing the transnational spread of infectious diseases. The newly adopted IHR (2005) has as purpose and scope “to prevent, protect against, control and provide a public health response to the international spread of disease in ways that are commensurate with and restricted to public health risks, and which avoid unnecessary interference with international traffic and trade”.
