First Latin American Workshop for Instructors Training of EPIDAT v3.0

EPIDAT v3.0 is a freeware computer program that contains the following modules of Epidemiology and Public Health: Adjustment of rates, Demography, Sampling, Probability Distributions, Concordance and Consistency, Diagnostic Tests, Contingency Tables, Inference of Parameters, Bayes Analysis, Surveillance in Public Health, Meta-analysis, and Herarchytion.

It is designed for health professionals with emphasis on the analysis of public health problems. EPIDAT v3.0 was developed between The Pan American Health Organization, Health Analysis and Information Systems Area and the Office of the Director Xeral of Saúde Public of the Xunta of Galicia (Spain).

EPIDAT v3.0 was first used in a Latin American Workshop for Instructors Training of EPIDAT v3.0 held in the National Institute of Health of Cuernavaca (Mexico), 7-9 June 2004 Twenty-seven professionals representing 9 countries of the Region of the Americas participated.

These instructors are expected to facilitate the dissemination of EPIDAT v3.0 in different academic areas, of research, and of health services of the Region of the Americas.
