Health research to achieve the Millennium Development Goals On November 16-20, the 8th Global Forum for Health Research and the Ministerial Summit on the same subject were held in Mexico City, with the participation of WHO Director-General Dr. LEE Jong-wook and PAHO Director Dr. Mirta Roses Periago. The meetings brought together over 700 participants from government, intergovernmental organizations, nongovernmental organizations, the private sector, leaders and users of health research, and representatives from civil society.
