In preparation for the Centennial celebrations of 2002, the Pan American Health Organization has named a Centennial Advisory Board. The members of this board are key players in various fields, all of which ultimately, directly or indirectly, impact upon our colective health. They are advocates, researchers, policymakers, and educators from all corners of the Americas. Together, these distinguished individuals reflect the goals and ideals of equity and panamericanism. As well as the diverse nature of health partnerships. Respected, dedicated, and hardworking--each one of them has contributed to the progress of health in the Americas. For that reason, Centennial Advisory Board members will be asked to present an award to a regional Public Health Hero during the Organization's anniversary dinner gala.

Throughout its Centennial year, the Pan American Health Organization hopes to garner support for and involve everyone in the ongoing quest for better health for all peoples of the Americas.
