A first version of the analysis of the dynamics (phases and principal actors) and contents of health sector reform in the sub-region of Central America and the Dominican Republic was carried out in 2001. Information for this analysis was included in the first edition of the Health Services and Systems Profiles for the eight countries grouped within the Central America and the Dominican Republic Health Sector Meeting (RESSCAD) (Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and the Dominican Republic). Having completed the second edition of the Profiles, an updated version of this analysis is presented here (2nd edition, July 2002).
