The Ministry of Health in Grenada is in charge of the general management of the health sector. The Ministry performs its management responsibilities through a centralized administration that fulfills the functions of policy formulation, planning, programming, and regulation. Health services are provided mainly through public installations, but private health care establishments have increased in recent years. During the last decade, the model from predominant organization to health services was based on the Primary Health Care approach as the principal strategy to improve the population’s state of health. The goals and objectives established through the initiative of Cooperation for Health in the Caribbean have been the emerging model that has given meaning to health care provision.
