The public sector in Saint Lucia dominates the administration and delivery of health care services. The Ministry of Health, Family Matters and Gender Relations is principally charged with the task of organizing resources and services for the health of the nation. The Ministry of Health has direct control of the public health system and regulates the private system through the Public Health Law (1975). The process of Health Sector Reform in Saint Lucia has gone through the design phase and preparations are underway for the implementation phase.
