PAHO Sixth Annual Walk for Health, April 6th This annual event takes on even more meaning this year with the WHD 2002 theme of "Move for Health!", along with the PAHO Centennial Celebration. The Walk starts at 10:00 a.m. and takes its participants alongside the sites of the U.S. capital. See you there, rain or shine! |

World Health Day (WHD) 2002 will highlight the importance of Physical Activity and a healthy lifestyle. WHD is an annual event of the World Health Organization, in which a new theme is selected each year to emphasize public health issues of worldwide concern. This year, the celebration of WHD 2002 will provide an opportunity to raise awareness for the need for regular physical activity to improve health. This is extremely important, as the promotion of physical activity and healthy eating is consider one of the pillars of Health Promotion. WHD 2002 is an excellent forum to bring to attention the benefits of regular physical activity and the many simple ways to incorporate physical activity into everyday life to make a major impact on health.
This is a call to the world to "MOVE FOR HEALTH!"
