With support and orientation from PAHO/WHO a group of countries from Latin America and the Caribbean has distinguished itself in promotion, prevention, and attention of mental health and illnesses. According to Dr. Jorge Rodriguez, PAHO/WHO-Washington, DC, Mental Health Advisor, mental health plans do not require costly and high-technology, but a big effort on formation and qualification of the human resources.
