El Paso, TX, June 28, 2012 (PAHO/WHO) – In order to prepare facilitators, coordinators, and teachers from el Programa Construye T of the Southern region of Chihuahua State and the Central region, el Programa Construye T of the Secretariat of Public Education with the support of the Pan American Health Organization / World Health Organization (PAHO / WHO) United States-Mexico Border Office held a workshop to identify successful initiatives in developing life skills for youth in high schools in the cities of Hidalgo de Parral and Chihuahua, in Chihuahua State, MX., this past June.

The main objective of the workshop was to train facilitators so they can help adolescents develop a healthy lifestyle by giving them tools to face the problems of violence, addictions, sexual responsibility and self esteem.

PAHO/WHO will be meeting with education and health authorities, civil society, private organizations, local, youth and the Mexican Ecoclubs Network who might be interested in joining and forming an Ecoclub on the Chihuahua region starting on September of this year.
