Unasur Coordinates Aid to Haiti

Health Ministers of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) are coordinating mechanisms to help Haiti in the outbreak of cholera that has so far killed nearly 200 people. A statement from the Health Ministry of Ecuador David Chiriboga, who holds the rotating presidency of the regional body, said that all member states are seeking to implement a strategy to help the Haitian government. He added that to face the health crisis in Haiti the Ecuadorian government will deliver humanitarian aid such as drinking water, oral rehydration salts, antibiotics, chlorine, gloves, and personal toilet products, among others. Spain Offers Aid to Haiti in Fight Against Cholera Outbreak

The government of Spain, through the Spanish Aid for International Cooperation and Developement,  (AECI) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MAEC), is continuing its plan to aid the people of Haiti in the fight against the cholera outbreak in the country. (in French)
