The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) host a two-day meeting this week of experts on gender and health. Participants will develop content for a new virtual course on gender and health (with virtual course facilitators) to be available on PAHO’s Virtual Campus of Public Health.
Meeting participants will identify the basic competencies, priority themes and content to be taught in the course, as well as evaluation and follow-up, and how to make the course sustainable over the long term.
Participants in the meeting represent a range of disciplines including public health, medicine, law, economics, anthropology, sociology, and education. Both the meeting and virtual course are part of PAHO’s Action Plan on Gender and Health, approved by the PAHO Directing Council in 2007.
