Workshop Program

This workshop was organized by the Pan American Health Organization / World Health Organization in collaboration with the U.S. Centers for Didesase Prevention and Control (CDC) to support those countries in the Americas that implemented the GSHS in 2010.

Every year, a number of countries are trained in the implementation of the GSHS. After conducting the survey, the countries are invited -usually one year later- to a GSHS Data Analysis workshop. For monitoring purposes, each country repeats the survey approximately every five years.Since 2011, all countries in the Americas with the exception of Canada and the US -which use a GSHS-like survey- are part of the GSHS information system.

The agenda for the workshop aimed at enhancing the participants' capacity in analyzing his/her own country's GSHS database by using Epinfo and standardizing procedures for report preparation and data interpretation.
