Communicable Disease Research Program



Communicable Disease Research Programme is part of the Department of Communicable Diseases and Health Analysis (CHA), PAHO, and Focal Point of Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases (WHO, UNICEF, UNDP, World Bank)

Objectives: To strengthen the capacity of endemic countries to undertake research aimed at developing new or improved preventive and control strategies of infectious diseases. To foster research effort on infectious diseases of poverty in the form of grants to researchers. To promote implementation research, and the translation of innovation to health impact in disease endemic countries of the American region

Target Population: Researchers, from Latin American and Caribbean countries, Institutions such as universities, disease-control programs or other government entities involved with research and disease prevention and control.



Taller "Abordaje de la emergencia y dispersión de la leishmaniasis en la frontera de Argentina, Brasil y Paraguay" en el marco del proyecto sobre leishmaniasis

 Entre los días 7 y 11 de julio de 2014, y en el marco del proyecto “Abordaje de la emergencia y dispersión de la leishmaniasis en la frontera de Argentina, Brasil y Paraguay”, ha tenido lugar un taller presencial conjunto en la sede del Instituto Nacional de Medicina Tropical (INMeT) en Puerto Iguazú, Argentina.
