This research ethics training tool was initially published in English by WHO and is available in Spanish here. PAHO, in cooperation with the Latin American Forum of Health Research Ethics Committees (FLACEIS) will soon launch a series of webinars (in Spanish) to discuss the cases in the book.

This book is primarily concerned with one aspect of the problems that accompany drinking: alcohol as a cause of injury. The burden of alcohol-related injury includes unintended harms (such as those resulting from the lack of physical and mental coordination that occurs after drinking) as well as intentional harms (such as those resulting from violent behavior caused by the effects of alcohol on judgment and mood).
