For periodic reviews of SAICM, the functions of the ICCM will include review of implementation progress, for the purpose of discussing guidance and reporting to SAICM stakeholders. Opportunities and challenges will be addressed regarding the Implementation of existing international instruments and programs, with attention to strengthening national chemicals management capacities. Review and decisions will be made regarding financial and technical resources availability, including performance of SAICM financing. Consensus will be sought for thematic priorities on emerging policy issues. Information exchange and scientific and technical cooperation will be promoted, with the participation of SAICM stakeholders.
