The Neglected, Tropical and Vector Borne Diseases (CHA/VT), part of the Department of Communicable Diseases and Health Analysis (CHA), is the group inside PAHO assigned to the area of infectious disease; surveillance, prevention, and control. The focus and activities of the project—mission, aims, strategies, and lines of action—are summarized in this fact sheet.



PAHO/WHO honors 2014 ‘Malaria Champions of the Americas’

 On the 8th annual Malaria Day in the Americas, Nov. 6, the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) is honoring three projects - from the Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Honduras - for their achievements in preventing and controlling malaria and advancing toward its elimination.
