dog and ownerThe PAHO Veterinary Public Health Project, part of the Health Surveillance and Disease Prevention and Control Area, encompasses the following teams:

  • Zoonoses / Animal Health (ZNS, including zoonotic diseases, or diseases transmitted by animals, and epizootics, or epidemics among animals): see their website at www.panaftosa.org.br.
  • Food Safety (FOS, including not only measures to ensure it but also food-borne diseases / FBDs and outbreaks of the same): see their website at www.panalimentos.org.

Operations for both teams have been decentralized to the PAHO Regional Center PANAFTOSA, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Read more for mission and areas of work.
