The first Ministerial Meeting of the Americas on Violence and Injury Prevention convened by Mexico's Minister of Health and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) in Merida, Mexico, 14 March 2008, adopted the Ministerial Declaration on Violence and Injury Prevention in the Americas (Annex A), emphasizing the need for additional efforts to solve this serious public health/developmental problem.
