The Regional Dengue Program convened a meeting to examine achievements and challenges over the past 10 years of implementation of the IMSDengue strategy, and engage stakeholders in a discussion of future steps. Sessions on initiatives evolving in the Americas, including vaccines and vaccine development, the economic impact of dengue, and emerging technologies for vector control were also included. This report is a summary of the presentations, discussions and recommendations from the Meeting on the State of the Art for the Prevention and Control of Dengue in the Americas, held May 28-29, 2014 in Washington, D.C.
