¿How can I purchase the material?

All health sciences students and health workers who wish to acquire books and basic diagnostic medical or dental instruments in their faculties or hospitals should present their Student Identification that credits that are students of that faculty.

 

Ministries and NGOs can purchase directly from PAHO Offices in the Countries by requesting an estimate.

 

¿What are the manuals currently available?

 

PALTEX publishes three series of practical manuals that focus on the basis of the current program of work and the strategic orientations of PAHO, emphasizing a primary health care strategy:

This series of practical manuals for the first-rate health workers consists of practical manuals for front-line health workers, including management of acute respiratory illness, care of mothers and infants, community health education, principles of epidemiology for disease control, basic laboratory techniques, and many others.

  • Serie PALTEX para Ejecutores de programas de salud

is a collection of manuals for in-service professionals responsible for project planning and execution, covering social aspects of health and planning of community health programs.

  • Serie PALTEX Salud y Sociedad

Through its series of manuals "Health and Society", PALTEX covers the relationship among the social realities and the state of health of the population especially focused to the undergraduate and graduate student of medicine, of right, of sociology, history, economy, and policy, and to promoters and health professionals.
